Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, David Yan González has over 26+ years of experience in the spirits and tequila industry.
David is a Certified Tequila Taster by Academia Mexicana del Tequila and Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila, and has a Maestro Catador Certification by Francisco Hajnal. He also received the Master Taster Award by Master Francisco Villalobos and reached the Expert Taster Level 4 from Ana Maria Romero Mena, a widely recognized maestra tequilera.
Under the direction of David, 818 Tequila has received multiple industry accolades, such as Best Reposado Tequila from the World Tequila Awards, the Chairman’s Trophy from the Ultimate Spirits Challenge, and a Double Gold award for Eight Reserve at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. With David, 818 continues to pursue this level of excellence and innovation, allowing more people to enjoy the tequila style defined by our founder, Kendall Jenner.
